Discover Affordable Accessible Fractional Sailing with SailTime Dun Laoghaire

SailTime Dun LaoghaireSailTime

Fractional sailing is the new way to sail in Dun Laoghaire! For the first time, people without the time or perhaps experience can enjoy sailing highly specified, quality yachts and powerboats in the same way that they pay for leasing a car or paying their health club membership. Perhaps you have dreamed of sailing or power cruising, but have not been ready or confident enough to make the large financial undertaking to purchase your own yacht or power cruiser, together with the associated ongoing costs and time commitment. If this is the case, then SailTime is the near perfect solution!

Welcome to SailTime Dun Laoghaire

Brian O’ReganThe guy in the photo is me, Brian O’Regan, taking delivery of the newest addition to the SailTime fleet ! When I first heard of the SailTime concept, I was convinced immediately. All that was missing was a base in Ireland ! So in Summer 2008 we open with our first boat, a Beneteau Oceanis 31 “Crazy Diamond” located in the marina in Dun Laoghaire.

At SailTime Ireland we have a simple goal; to make sailing accessible, easy and affordable to novice and sea-dog alike

You may be an existing boat-owner that is attracted by the convenience of “show-up-and-sail” ? Or perhaps you crew or campaign a racing boat but want access to a cruiser with all the “mod-cons” to bring the family out ? Or maybe you simply want to check out the wonderful sport of sailing and are not sure how best to proceed?

Whatever the context, SailTime makes sense for many, many people who just want to enjoy getting out on the water. With monthly memberships on brand new 31ft Beneteau yacht starting at € 649 Inc Vat per month, there has never been a better way to fulfill that dream. Just turn up and sail 7 times per month and let us do the rest.

If you want to find out more or would like to see or sail the boats please click on the “contact us" button or call me, Brian on 087 9669029 or 01 5242324. We will also be scheduling regular open days which can be found by clicking on the Info & Events tab.

We look forward to sailing with you soon!

Training

Royal Yacht Association Training CentreSailTime membership is the perfect way to achieve your ISA Day Skipper qualification or to build on that to achieve your Yachtmaster Coastal or Offshore qualification. Not only can we organize with our affiliated training partners to have your training on your own boat but you then have the means to build miles and experience to round-out the qualification.

Discuss with Brian, your SailTime Base owner and agree on a schedule that suits you.

Places to Go

Dublin Bay is a deservedly well-renowned centre of cruiser sailing with several sheltered harbours on which to set your sights. Foremost, of course, is Dun Laoghaire itself, one of the largest man-made harbors in the world and home to 4 separate yacht clubs.

Going north, picturesque Carlingford is about a day’s sail from Dublin Bay. Of course, both Howth and Malahide offer excellent stop-over points and both marinas offer excellent facilities and access to the towns. Continuing north, Ardglass offers another picturesque stop-over on the way to Bangor.

Going East, the Isle of Man is a popular target for Dublins’ sailors as is North Wales. For the more adventurous, Scotland’s west coast offers almost unlimited opportunities to explore.

Heading South, through Arklow and Greystones, Kilmore Quay is a convenient stop-over on the way to the some of Europe’s best cruising grounds in the south-west. Cork and Kinsale harbours are logical places to visit with Baltimore, Schull, Castletownbere and Crookhaven just some of the places accessible within an extra day’s cruise.

Heading west from Dublin will unfortunately disappoint the SailTime member – our fin-keel Beneteau is likely to prove more than the Royal and Grand canals can accommodate!
