SailTime FAQ

The affordable and enjoyable way to sail on the stunning Cornish coastline!

Fractional sailing is the new way to sail in Falmouth. For the first time, people without the time or perhaps experience can enjoy sailing highly specified, quality yachts and powerboats in the same way that they pay for leasing a car or paying their health club membership. Perhaps you have dreamed of sailing or power cruising, but have not been ready or confident enough to make the large financial undertaking to purchase your own yacht or power cruiser, together with the associated ongoing costs and time commitment. If this is the case, then SailTime is the near perfect solution!

Welcome to SailTime Falmouth

Flexible Cornwall yacht charter from FalmouthMy name’s Dan Hardy and, as the manager of SailTime Falmouth, I would like to welcome you.

I have been around water all of my life, my passion for sailing started in dinghies, I trained to become a dinghy instructor and taught abroad up to Senior Instructor level, picking up power boat instructor along the way. My academic career also had a nautical theme graduating with a BA Hons Maritime Leisure Management from Southampton.

Whilst at Southampton my enthusiasm grew, regularly racing Sigma yachts out of the Hamble, Cowes and a frequent competitor in The Round the Island race. I have been fortunate in the last 2 years to have lived and working in Falmouth, running a Children’s Sailing School on Swanpool Beach training hundreds of budding new sailors and experiencing their joy of learning to sail for the first time.

Loving the Cornwall area and the life style, coupled with the outstanding coast line it was a natural decision to set up a brand new SailTime base in Falmouth. I personally feel that SailTime is an extremely exciting new concept that makes Sailing more accessible, affordable and hassle free for all. We are hoping to attract new faces to come and experience what is such a great sport, and what better place to do it than the beautiful coast line of Cornwall.

Whether you are a beginner or fully qualified, SailTime Falmouth offers an extensive range of RYA training programmes tailored to suit your needs. Helping you get on the water, so you, your friends and family can enjoy the world of sailing in a safe and affordable way.

With monthly memberships on a brand new 34ft Beneteau yacht starting at £450+VAT per month. There has never been a better reason to get on the water. Just turn up and sail 7 times per month and let us do the rest.

If you want to find out more or would like to see or sail the boats please click on the ‘contact us button’ or call Dan on 01326 377 433. We also have regular open days which can be found by clicking on the Info & Events button.

I look forward to seeing more new faces in the world of SailTime.

ABOUT FALMOUTH

Falmouth yacht share in CornwallFalmouth is the centrepiece of west country cruising and makes the ideal jumping off point to sail to the Isles of Scilly or North Brittany. Close by is also the stunning Helford river. Falmouth Harbour, including the Carrick Roads, is reputed to be the third largest natural harbour in the world, many blue-water voyages have begun here in nervous anticipation or ended in triumph, and, occasionally, a blaze of publicity, like Knox-Johnston’s epic in Suhaili or latterly, Ellen MacArthur and her B&Q trimaran.

Falmouth has the advantage of offering the choice of a number of Marina’s in the area, Sailtime Falmouth’s first boat will be located in Mylor Yacht Harbour. Situated on the western shore of Carrick Roads in the beautiful Fal Estuary, Mylor Yacht Harbour has been improved and expanded in recent years, now comprising of two substantial breakwaters, three inner pontoons and approximately 250 moorings. With 24hour access, good shelter and excellent facilities, it ranks among the most popular marinas on the South West Coast line. Mylor also boast of the famous Pandora Inn which is a great place to wine and dine or relax with a beer especially at high tide when the 20 berth pontoon becomes accessible.

Pandora Inn, Mylor

Sail a new Falmouth yacht in CornwallThe most western harbour on the Isle of Wight, Yarmouth is not only a convenient passage stopover, but has become a very desirable destination in its own right with virtually all weather and tidal access. With the exception of the town quay, the way ashore is by dinghy or water taxi. Yarmouth is a delightful fishing, ferry and yachting port, widely regarded as one of the jewels of the south coast. There are many fine restaurants and amenities. One of its primary features is the castle, constructed in 1547 by order of Henry VIII. The Harbour is not recommended for comfort in strong northerlies or north-easterlies, but is otherwise snugly sheltered.
