The affordable and enjoyable way to sail!

Join Plymouth boat share not buy a Devon Coast yacht.Sail a Plymouth yacht on the Devon Coast

Fractional sailing is the new way to sail in Plymouth. For the first time, people without the time or perhaps experience can enjoy sailing highly specified, quality yachts and powerboats in the same way that they pay for leasing a car or paying their health club membership. Perhaps you have dreamed of sailing or power cruising, but have not been ready or confident enough to make the large financial undertaking to purchase your own yacht or power cruiser, together with the associated ongoing costs and time commitment. If this is the case, then SailTime is the near perfect solution!

Welcome to SailTime Plymouth

Flexible Devon Coast yacht charter from PlymouthMy name is Dan Hardy and, as the manager of SailTime Plymouth, I would like to welcome you.

I have been around water all of my life, my passion for sailing started in dinghies, I trained to become a dinghy instructor and taught abroad up to Senior Instructor level, picking up power boat instructor along the way. My academic career also had a nautical theme graduating with a BA Hons Maritime Leisure Management from Southampton.

In January of 2007 myself and my fellow directors Andy Rees and Richard Lago formed SailTime South West and started SailTime Falmouth following our success with the launch of our Beneteau 343 in May we are rapidly developing the business, and we are expanding into Devon, we currently look forward to the arrival of our Brand NEW Beneteau 31, the 31 is a new model for 2008 and we have one of the first boats coming into the UK. The boat yet to be named is to be berthed in the well appointed Queen Anne’s Battery Marina.

Whether you are a beginner or fully qualified, SailTime Plymouth offers an extensive range of RYA training programmes tailored to suit your needs. Helping you get on the water, so you, your friends and family can enjoy the world of sailing in a safe and affordable way.

With the monthly membership on our Brand NEW Beneteau 31 at only £499 inc vat per month. There has never been a better reason to get on the water. Just turn up and sail 7 times per month and let us do the rest.

I look forward to seeing more new faces in the world of SailTime.

ABOUT PLYMOUTH

Plymouth yacht share on the Devon CoastPlymouth is well known as a City of the Sea and has played a major role in seafaring voyages around the world, and high profile events such as the Rolex Fastnet Race. Plymouth itself has been built up around the maritime world with figures such as Sir Francis Drake sailing from here, these influences have lead to a beautiful and very historic city forming. Plymouth is a great place to eat out and relax with the old barbican area offering a wide range restaurants serving food from around the globe.

Queen Anne’s Battery is located in the heart of this with the train station, and city centre within walking distance, and offers easy access to a huge cruising area, from day sails to week long trips Plymouth can cater for all sailors. Plymouth sound and the Tamar River offers sheltered sailing if the weather at sea blows up with a number of scenic anchorages and many fantastic pubs to visit. However weather permitting and felling more adventures then out of the shelter of the Plymouth break water and you have endless options East to Yealmpton, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Brixham,Torbay, Teighmouth, Exmouth, Weymouth right up to Poole Harbour. Or why not run West and into the ancient kingdom of Cornwall with its smuggler’s coves and quaint fishing villages. With ports such as Fowey, Mevagissey, St Mawes, Falmouth, Helford River or as far down as the Isles of Scilly.

Queen Anne’s Battery is a great marine to base a boat as it is just minutes into the Plymouth Sound and has easy access at all states of the tide. So weather you are new to sailing or have sailed for years Plymouth can cater for both.

Sailtime Plymouth plans to launch the NEW base with the arrival of the NEW Beneteau 31, this boat will take the new designs produced by Beneteau, which has made a great boat balancing performance and comfort.

Sailtime Plymouth’s two day induction process makes sure that members are familiar with the boats and the local area before heading off on your own. The process is designed to help increase skippers confidence and allow them to make judgments for themselves. If you are new to the world of sailing then Sailtime can help we have strong links with local sailing schools and together we can offer RYA training to suit your needs.
